Your Puerto Vallarta vacation is an important get-a-way for you and your family, and you've spent countless hours planning and budgeting for this special event. Then when you get here, there's so much to do that it can be difficult to decide which activities fit your schedule - and your budget!
Puerto Vallarta is ideally situated in the Banderas Bay, one of the largest and deepest bays in the world, and the nearby Mexican Pacific offers world-class sports fishing that is hard to resist! For those who are traveling with non-fishermen, or if chartering a private fishing boat doesn't fit within your budget, Marina Mismaloya's boat sharing programs allow you to share your Puerto Vallarta fishing trip - and the cost of the charter boat - with other fishermen.
Sharing your Puerto Vallarta fishing charter offers several benefits. The biggest advantage, of course, is that boat sharing saves you money, so you can fish two or three times on your Puerto Vallarta vacation. But there are also several disadvantages...
First, Discovery shared fishing charters do not go out until we are able to book four or more fishermen who want to share the sportfishing boat. So, if you are on a tight schedule, there is a possibility that the boat share might not happen on the day you want to fish.
Second, when fishing is slow, there are times when only one or two fish are hooked up. With rotational watches on the rods, it may mean you won't get to fight the giant Marlin or Sailfish that strikes, and you might feel a little bit left out if this happens. Still, a day on the water and witnessing the catching of a big fish firsthand is pretty exciting!
Third, personalities at sea tend to differ greatly. You may not like the people you are sharing your charter with. Some people may become ill and want to go home just as the fish start biting, which might create tension for those who want to keep fishing.
Discovery Fishing Charters offer the following boat sharing trips:
 8 Hour Trip: 6 person maximum, 3 person minimum - $200.00/per person
10 Hour Trip: 6 person maximum, 3 person minimum - $250.00/per person
To request a boat share, please fill out the form above. If we are able to hook you up with another fishing party, we will send you payment instructions and confirm your reservation. Note: The minimum number of passengers for Discovery Fishing Charter shares is 3 passengers, and limited to a maximum of 6 anglers per fishing boat.
 Organizing a share can be difficult. If you want to guarantee your Puerto Vallarta fishing trip, consider booking a private Fishing Charter and check the "willing to share" box on our Reservation Form, and we will do our best to hook you up with other fishermen who want to share the cost of your Puerto Vallarta fishing charter.
If we get a boat sharing inquiry, we'll notify you by email and help you work out the arrangements for sharing the cost of your Puerto Vallarta deep-sea fishing trip with the interested party. If we cannot find anyone for you to share your fishing trip with, you will have to pay our regular charter boat rates of $700 USD for 8 hour fishing charters, or $800 USD for 10 hour saltwater fishing trips.
Whichever you choose, Discovery Fishing Charters provide you with all of the equipment you need for a enjoyable day of fishing in Puerto Vallarta Mexico. The Discovery is a 32 foot, 2001 Luhrs 320 sports fisher with Cummins turbo powered engines, and our bilingual fishing guides are experienced fisherman who pay special attention to customer service.
